AlertNow Parent Emergency Notification Service

Keeping parents informed is a top priority of the Freeport Area School District. That’s why the school district has adopted an emergency notification service, AlertNow.  This system will allow telephone or e-mail messages to be sent to parents and provide important information about unique situations or emergencies.

In the event of an emergency which could require parent action, families will get information on a needed basis from this system.

When an emergency call is initiated by school district  officals:

Caller ID will display the school’s main number when general announcements are delivered.

Caller ID will display 411 if the message is a dire emergency.

Messages will be left on answering machines and voicemail.

The school district is excited to incorporate AlertNow as a tool to improve parent communication.  In addition to emergency communication, AlertNow will also be used to improve parent communication from the school district and building level.  Messages on school delays and cancellations, after-school events, extra-curricurlar activities, principals’ information, and other school related information can now be shared via the AlertNow system.

Any questions on the emergency notification system can be directed to Todd O’Shell, School and Student Events Coord., at (724) 295-5143, ext. 260 or toshell@freeport.k12.pa.us.
